Jerry Brown is
a stoneware potter who was chosen as Folk Artist of the year for
the State of Alabama and National Folk Artist the following year.
He has received a National Fellowship award from the NEA.. He
has been making churns, face jugs, and pots since he was a child.
He is ninth generation family potter. He digs his own blue clay,
uses a mule-driven mill to blend his clay and fires it in a traditional
ground-hog kiln that is big enough to walk into it!
